SADIE - My little busy body!

Started back to school on Monday. I wasn't sure how Miss Sadie would react to my schedule, but she's doing well. I think the sound of all the kids voices makes her happy...I hope. She better get used to it. :) Everything's fine, the kids love asking questions about her and wondering what she's doing. I do have a lot more energy than I thought I would, so that's a God-send.

How your baby's growingHead to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Miss Sadie - 24 weeks - and MOVING all the time!!!

Sadie is a really active baby!! I am starting to feel stronger kicks and punches now... She likes to rest her head right above my belly button, especially when I'm singing! That makes singing a little harder, but I think she really likes the sounds of the band around her!
I'm feeling more and more pregnant everyday! My back makes it harder to get up out of bed and out of my chair. I'm carrying her "like it's a boy" as everyone says. Neh...she's just a little version of Craig! :)

How your baby's growing:Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Sadie Elaine - 23 Weeks along

She's just a mover and a shaker!!! She only moves when I lay down to rest and when I've got my hands on my tummy, she sits real still when Craig puts his hand on my tummy. However, the other night, I could feel her doing a summersalt in my stomach, and he couldn't feel it. It think it's a lot easier for me to feel it on the outside, b/c I feel it on the inside.

Went to the Dr. today. Strong heartbeat: 160 bpm. Told her about my back pain and sleepless nights and HEARTBURN!!! All normal.

Trying to get the curtains for the baby room sewn right now. That's contributing to my back pain, but they're turning out cute.

I have most of what I need to work on the room...we just have some moving furniture to do...this weekend I suspect?

I'll try to have a new pic up this week. xoxoxo

How your baby's growing:Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.See what your baby looks like this week.Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Baby Sadie - 22 weeks along!

Everyday that I wake up now, I've grown more!!! It's getting harder to sleep, turn over, get comfortable, and just get to sleep. The clothes I wore at the beginning of the pregnancy are now getting snug - they were hand-me-downs from my skinny sister and sister-in-law, who were little when they were prego. Someone actually asked me if I'm having twins! Men! If his wife had been there, she would've hit him, I'm sure...I almost did! I pray I have the energy to get my classroom in order before school starts. I'd love to just say, "What doesn't get done, doesn't get done". But those who know me, know better. New pictures of the tummy will come soon, but I'm going to have to wear a different shirt, the coral one is getting snug in the tummy! ;)

How your baby's growing:At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.See what your baby looks like this week.
